Toddler will attend school after having brain surgery
After suffering from excessive seizures, 3-year-old Jailynn Lefevers had surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital to remove the right half of her brain on Feb 5. The toddler is back to her old self, walking, learning new words and participating in educational videos, according to her mother, Holly Lefevers.

Despite facing major surgery at the age of 7 that required the removal of the right side of her brain, Christina Santhouse of Bristol has persevered and is well on her way toward earning a master’s degree at Misericordia University. She recently told her story of overcoming life’s obstacles to the Hemispherectomy Foundation through the Jessie Hall Hemispherectomy Scholarship essay contest and earned a $1,000 scholarship toward her master’s degree tuition.
